Reverend Richard Scott Lohman

Pastor Scott loves serving here in NC. Prior to being called to Advent Lutheran Church, Pastor Scott served at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aurora, Illinois, where he was the Care and Outreach pastor. Before that, he was called to start a church in Minooka, Illinois, called Minooka CrossPoint, reaching people in the community in many creative ways.

Before being called into full-time ministry, Pastor worked as an insurance claims adjuster mainly in vehicle claims.

Pastor Scott and his wife, Gina, have served in multiple ways in the church and community. Pastor and Gina have been married for 30+ years. Gina is a 5th grade teacher at Hillcrest Elementary School in Burlington, North Carolina. Pastor Scott and Gina enjoy life and laughs together, especially as they spend time with family. Gina’s family is in Warrenville, Illinois and the surrounding area, as well as in Tennessee and Ohio. Pastor Scott’s father, Rev. John Lohman, is retired in Iowa, and Pastor’s brother, David, is in Seattle.

The Lohmans have been blessed with 4 children:

Courtney (Bradley) is the Lohman’s daughter. Life brought her to Michigan, where she met Paul Bradley who is a nurse practitioner. The Lohmans wonderful grandsons are William and Luke!

Robert is the Lohman’s oldest son, and lives and works in Chicago.  He is in the field of marketing, and enjoying life.

Jack is back in Illinois after graduating from Elon University, Elon NC, with a Computer Science degree. He is engaged to a lovely young lady named Angel. And life is good!

Jonathan is now in Johnson City, TN, after graduating East Tennessee State University studying Biology/Ecology. He enjoys many laughs with his friends, and with his girlfriend, Bailey.
