26 June, 2020 – Advent Announcements

RETURNING TO CHURCH – NO LIVE/IN-PERSON WORSHIP YET. For now we’ll wait a bit since North Carolina’s Coronavirus cases have not declined. Our tentative date is pushed back to August for now. We’ll keep you posted.

Our ACTS (Advent Coronavirus Team of Safety) Group is working on us safely and reverently returning to worship. We learned a few things from a trial run this past weekend, and with that in mind, and the Governor’s updates, we believe waiting is the prudent, caring, compassionate and loving thing to do.

More details will follow as we near August. Should you have questions, please contact Dave Neely dave.neely@hotmail.com or Pastor Scott scott_lohman@sbcglobal.net to discuss these.

Virtual Worship Services – We continue with our Virtual Worship Services online. An email will go out Sunday with our Worship Service. You may also check our YouTube Channel: Advent Lutheran Church Chapel Hill or take a look at the Website: www.AdventLutheranCH.org.

Helping Those in Need During CoVid-19 – We continue to reach out during this time and we have checked with PORCH (People Offering Relief for Chapel Hill-Carrboro Homes).  The best way to work with them as we are in this pandemic, is to go directly to their website:   www.chapelhill.porchcommunities.org Then, click on the floating banner in red, which says Click here for how to help during COVID-19 crisis. They accept financial donations, they then safely provide to those who are in need of help. For non-perishable food donations, they are referring people to places we have worked with before, such as:  Inter-faith Council For Social  Services  http://www.ifcweb.org and Orange Congregations In Mission www.ocimnc.org. Thanks for continued to care for our community!
